How Can I Tell If I Need Duct Testing?

June 27th, 2022

One of the most important services we offer our customers is duct testing in Mansfield, LA, and throughout the Shreveport area. During duct testing in a home, we seal off the ventilation system, pressurize the ductwork, and then use manometers to test how well the ducts maintain that air pressure. If the pressure begins to quickly drop, we’ll know the integrity of the ducts has fallen and the ductwork needs sealing to return to make it airtight again. (If it ever was. Poor duct installation is unfortunately common.)

But since you aren’t sitting around with a manometer to test the pressure of your ducts and you can’t visually see most of the ventilation system, how will you know it’s time to give us a shout for duct testing? We’ll give you some answers to this question and pointers for detecting when you’ve got ducts that need an inspection.

This thief is leaky air ducts, and it’s a common problem found in many homes. The good news is that if you know how to identify the signs of this thief, you can get rid of him easily: just call our professionals to test your ducts and seal those leaks.

April 18th, 2022

Air conditioning systems are marvelous devices. For centuries, people had methods to add heat to their homes but didn’t have a standard method to cool them down. Mechanical air conditioning was invented in the early 20th century but didn’t start to have a significant impact on homes until the 1950s. Now it’s hard for us to imagine making it through a summer without using the cooling power of ACs.

You may have wondered about the performance of your own air conditioning system. For example, how cool can an AC make a house? There must be an upper limit, but what is it? We’ll look at these questions in this post because this knowledge can help you understand how best to run your AC and set the thermostat.

In our previous post, we addressed concerns about your heating system at the end of the winter season. Today, we’re switching topics entirely, because spring has officially arrived and it’s now time to think about warmer weather. And that means talking about your air conditioning system.

We rely heavily on our home air conditioning systems during the middle of the year, and you’ve certainly put plenty of “miles” on your AC (unless you just had a new one installed). All this wear can cause problems for any AC unless it has professional attention to inspect, adjust, clean, and generally tune it up before the major heat arrives.
